For students who wish to enter the world of business services and gain a nationally recognised qualification to better your future employment opportunities.
Units include:
You will complete a minimum of 30 hours work placement, usually over two weeks, within a professional setting. In addition, there are many further opportunities to gain experience at events such as Victorious Festival and the Highbury Handover at Whiteley Shopping Centre.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including maths and English.
You will be taught by fully qualified, experienced tutors in the classroom, using a range of resources and methods, including textbooks, demonstrations, practical tasks, projects and e-learning. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your own education and develop skills of independent and autonomous learning and self-discovery, with the support and guidance of the tutors. You will have access to the latest Microsoft technologies and will be expected to complete independent study outside the classroom for at least 15 hours a week.
Assessment takes many forms enabling learners to develop a broad range of transferable skills including report writing, presentations, project completion and case studies. There are two externally set exams and a range of assignment tasks set across the year.
Weekly attendance is required at college during term-time. Generally, students will be in college three days a week with the remaining day studying at home or in college, unless they need to retake maths and/or English GCSEs.
You can progress to the Level 3 BTEC Foundation Diploma in Business or into an apprenticeship.
