We understand that a school environment does not suit some young people. Our College offers an effective alternative to enable those young people to continue learning.
Support for students
Pre 16 Coordinator
Our Pre 16 Coordinator will be your first point of contact and will be available to help with any problems, queries or support needs.
The Pre 16 Coordinator will keep in contact with the home school to report on students' attendance and progress.
We also stay in touch with parents and carers, letting them know about any issues.
Dedicated pastoral support is provided to our Pre 16 students with any problems or support needs they may have.
Learning Assistant
If a student's EHCP states they require support within the classroom, we ensure that support is provided.
SEND Team Leader
If a student has an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) at school, the support requirements stated on the EHCP will follow them to College. The SEND Team Leader will monitor their needs and progress and will be involved in their annual reviews.

Engage
Our Engage programme is specially designed for Year 10 students who, for a variety of reasons, are not fully integrated in mainstream education.
Students requiring learning support within the classroom will be charged additional costs depending on their individual support needs.
The programme consists of:

- Community project
- Enrichment activities: music fusion, photography, sport, cooking, art, animal care

Vocational Pathways
The Year 11 Vocational Pathway programme is designed for Year 11 students. It enables them to attend College for half a day a week to gain experience and a qualification in a vocational subject area.
Students requiring learning support within the classroom will be charged additional costs depending on their individual support needs.
Students will gain an understanding of the basic mechanical skills needed to work in the automotive repair industry. Students will work in the College’s garage workshop.

Students will work in the College’s hair & beauty salons and will be introduced to a wide range of hairdressing & beauty skills which will prepare them for progression to higher level learning.

Cost

The course will cover a range of skills and practical tasks in trades such as Bricklaying, Carpentry & Joinery and Plastering. Students will also learn about the health & safety requirements of the construction trade.

All schools using our Pre 16 curriculum for their students will be asked to sign our Service Level Agreement
College code of conduct
All students attending our Pre 16 provision will be expected to follow our code of conduct.
We have high expectations for all of our students. They are expected to be respectful and to have exemplary behaviour at all times.
Student progress
Six-weekly student progress reports will be sent out to schools and parents detailing the progress the student is making on their course.
Leaving College
Pre 16 students are not permitted to leave the College campus at any time due to safeguarding.
