WorldSkills competitions, also known as the ‘global skills Olympics’, are the gold standard of skills excellence. They inspire competitors to reach new heights and help turn your passion into a profession.

We support competitors to enter regional and national competition heats in a wide range of vocational areas, including construction, hairdressing, horticulture, health & social care, automotive, engineering and computing.

As a trusted WorldSkills event partner, we also regularly host regional competitions in hairdressing and web design.

In recent years, five outstanding students competed in national finals, including computing students Jack Day and Kai Oliver, plus Foundation Prospects students Kevin Stubbs, Dean Roberts and Danny Walker.

In 2021, Kevin Stubbs scooped a gold medal in the Horticulture Foundation Skills finals, closely followed by teammate Dean Roberts who was awarded silver.

Jack Day triumphed in 2019 winning gold in web design. Jack was selected, alongside 2017 winner Lewis Newton, to join Squad UK in the lead up to WorldSkills Shanghai in 2022.

After 18 months training in the WorldSkills UK Talent Programme Lewis was selected to represent the UK in WorldSkills Shanghai 2022.

“Winning gold felt really good and it really boosted my confidence. That’s the best thing about WorldSkills, it gives you so much confidence. I could see all the other competitors getting more confident during the day too.”
