City of Portsmouth College's CMDDA1 course is a specialist qualification for Category 1 qualified gas engineers who respond to reports of fumes, carbon monoxide (CO) alarm activations or suspected leaks of products of combustion from appliances in domestic premises.
It is designed to equip you with knowledge and skills to test appliances and the CO/CO2 levels inside a property using portable combustion anlaysers to BS 7967 1-4 and HSE guidance documents.
This course is not designed for speciallists who attend incidents involving injury.
You must be a Category 1 gas engineer with a CCN1 qualification and a minimum of 12 months' experience.
This is a two-day course of training and assessment.
This course is assessed through BPEC by multiple choice exam and practical assessment to national standards.
You'll be awarded a BPEC CMDDA1 certificate, allowing you to investigate a report of fumes, CO alarm activation or supected leakage of products of combustion from a domestic appliance.
