Among the leaders in hospitality and events
Our own Jo Chaffin was among 40 women in leadership who gathered at the Club House in Southsea to talk about influencing and driving impactful change in hospitality and events. The networking event was organised by Samantha McGrath from Heard About Sam Ltd in conjunction with Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan.

The sun shone for our glorious graduates
Glorious sunshine graced the stunning surroundings of Portsmouth Cathedral for our 2024 graduation ceremony. A total of 22 adult learners were there with their families and friends to mark the successful completion of their higher education courses.

Intrepid students en route to silver awards
Congratulations to a group of seven intrepid students who’ve recently completed their Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award assessed expedition. They successfully navigated three days and two nights of camping in the New Forest, walking a route they planned themselves and remaining self-sufficient throughout.

Level 2 students fly high
More than 300 students are today celebrating success in their Level 2 programmes with another bumper day of results for the College. A 100 per cent pass rate was seen in 23 subjects as diverse as plumbing, sport, early years, art & design and barbering.

She crochets because she cares
Since joining the COPC team three years ago, Senior Safeguarding Officer Lynn Counsell has hand-made literally hundreds of stress gonks and fidget sticks. She crochets them in her own time and happily hands them out free of charge to anyone who needs them.

Third record year for Level 3 results
There were joyful scenes here today, with jubilant students celebrating an overall pass rate of 96 per cent across all campuses. Their success marked a third record year for the College, with more than 1,000 students achieving success in a total of 1,671 academic, technical and vocational qualifications.

Going the extra mile for our students
We've teamed up with First Bus to run two specially extended dedicated bus routes for our students. From the start of the new academic year in September, students can take advantage of the PC1 and PC2 routes.

Rising culinary stars shine in intercollege contest
Our catering students really shone when they faced competition from Southampton, Eastleigh, Fareham, Swindon and Basingstoke in an intercollege contest. They competed in a series of categories including knife skills, fresh pasta, rice, street food and New Forest strawberries & pancakes.

Business awards raise £7000 for Heartbeat charity
We joined around 400 of the region's leading businesspeople for the annual Central South Business Awards ceremony, which raised more than £7,000 for the charity Heartbeat. TV star and comedian Simon Brodkin (better known as prankster Lee Nelson) hosted the glittering charity event held at Southampton’s Leonardo Grand Harbour Hotel.

Pedal power!
A big well done to two groups of our Foundation Prospects students, who raced away with the Pompey Pedals fundraising event. They set out to raise £100 by completing 50 miles of cycling and walking – but managed to clock up 60 miles and raise a whopping £425.30!
