City of Portsmouth College's initial CENWAT course is for new entrants and Category 1 qualified gas engineers who wish to extend scope and add boilers and water heaters to their existing CCN1 certificate.
The course covers:
- installation
- commissioning
- servicing
- repair of domestic gas boilers and water heaters. (Up to 70KW)
To undertake this course, you must be a qualified gas engineer with a minimum of 12 months' experience.
Candidates must be a Category 1 gas engineer with CCN1 and a minimum of 12 months' experience.
This is a one-day course of training and assessment.
Assessed through BPEC by multiple choice exam and practical assessment to national standards.
On completion, you'll be awarded a BPEC CENWAT certificate, allowing you to apply to the Gas Safe Register to work on domestic gas boilers and water heaters up to 70KW.
