Working in the Portsmouth History Centre, you will be exploring the city's rich and varied photographic archive. You will get to work with the Historical Centre Manager on filling in photography gaps from their archive and working towards building a new one. Students will get the chance to explore the vast centre, dive into photographs of portsmouth spanning decades and work on a join assignment, collectively making a body of work that will be placed in the archive, forever.
This course is suitable for students with basic knoweledge on camera settings to highly competent.
All cameras are welcome, including smart phones.
Students must have their own camera to attend this course.
There are no formal entry requirements to join this course.

Part-time attendance required over 5-weeks.
Your progress will be assessed by your course tutor through a variety of soft skills, including participation in classroom discussions, activities and group work, completion of homework and regular attendance.
You could progress on to one of the many photography & editing courses we offer, such as Street Photography, Advanced Adobe - Photoshop and Lightroom or Portrait Photography, and more!

A group of visual arts, media and film students are back from a fabulous four-day trip to Madrid. Their visit took in the Ikono Gallery, a tapas meal at Fatigas Del Querer, a flamenco performance, the Prado museum, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and the Museo Nacional Centro Arte Reina Sofia.
