Pioneering partnership leads to CSCS card presentation

City of Portsmouth College (COPC) students, who aim to forge a career in construction, have been granted a vital boost to their work ambitions with the awarding of fully funded CSCS cards.
COPC held a special event celebrating the outstanding achievements of its Top Students of 2025 at North Harbour Campus, with the funded CSCS cards as their reward. This was made possible thanks to a collaborative project between COPC, Portsmouth City Council and Wilten Construction, who were there to mark the occasion.
As prime contractor for the Railway Triangle redevelopment in Portsmouth, Wilten has demonstrated a strong commitment to local skills and employability. Following an earlier visit to the College, where their team delivered a project talk and met with students, this latest contribution provides our learners with a valuable opportunity to progress into the construction industry.
Assistant Principal Apprenticeships & Business Development, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Wilten Construction and Portsmouth City Council for this fantastic gesture, investing in Portsmouth's future talent. Partnerships like these are so valuable to our students and help give them the boost they need as they move into working life.”
