City of Portsmouth College becomes new host for Moving Forward
PUBLISHED 21-01-2026

City of Portsmouth College (COPC) is proud to announce it is the new host for Moving Forward, Portsmouth’s flagship event supporting young people and adults with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
The event, which takes place on March 20, 2026, will be held at the College’s Sixth Form Campus on Tangier Road, between 9.30am and 3pm. It’s previously been held at Portsmouth Football Club, but now needs more space as it’s become such a popular event for Portsmouth families.
Sarah Hume, a SEND Transitional Coach at COPC, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting this event for City of Portsmouth Council. We’re proud of our SEND provision here and having an event like this on campus means so much to our students and their families. They’re looking forward to attending, taking part and learning more.”
Moving Forward is aimed at those aged 14 to 25 and their families, and will feature more than 40 organisations offering advice, information, and practical support on employment, training, health, and community services.
As well as the chance to meet and speak directly with these organisations, the College’s fully accessible space includes a breakout corner to relax and rest. There’s plenty of parking at the College, and regular bus services for public transport users.
You can find out more about the event itself, including the full list of exhibitors, at https://portsmouthlocaloffer.org/events/moving-forward/ and book your free tickets there.
If you’re a large group wishing to attend, organisers are seeking to stagger arrivals to manage capacity. To book an arrival time, email sarah.hume@copc.ac.uk.
