Have a question for us?
A Taster Day is your chance to experience college life before you apply. You will take part in mini lessons in subjects you are interested in, explore the campus and meet lecturers and get a feel for College life.
Taster Days are designed to give you a real feel for what studying at City of Portsmouth College is like, helping you feel more confident about your next step and start finding your brilliance.
When signing up, you will choose one Campus and then select subjects available at that location. Each Campus offers different courses, so it is important to pick the one that matches your interests.
You will usually choose two subjects at North Harbour or Highbury campuses, or up to four subjects at Sixth Form Campus. Make sure you check your choices carefully before submitting, as spaces are limited and sessions can fill up quickly.
Your Taster Day will follow a structured timetable, starting with arrival and registration before moving into your chosen subject sessions. You will have the chance to try hands on activities, ask questions and experience a different style of learning.
There will also be time for breaks, and staff will be available throughout the day to support you if you need help or are unsure about anything.
You'll be informed before your Taster Day whether uniform/non-uniform is required. If you are attending North Harbour Campus, you will be taking part in practical workshop sessions, so you must wear trousers and suitable footwear such as trainers or steel toe cap boots.
If you are not dressed appropriately for health and safety requirements, you may not be able to take part in some activities, so it is important to come prepared. Read more about each Campus and what is required.
You will receive a sign up link or QR code from your school. Once the booking form opens, you can choose your Campus and subjects. Places are first come, first served, so it is important to sign up early and check your choices before submitting.
After booking, you will receive your confirmed timetable around a week before your Taster Day so you know exactly where to go and what to expect.
