The world of work is waiting for you at the end of our Supported Internship programme. Run from the Portsmouth Civic offices, this course includes three days of independent work a week.
Our fantastic partnership with Portsmouth City Council and Minsted Trust ensures you get the highest levels of support throughout so you can develop your work skills.
The standard course week involves two days of classroom-based work including English, maths, employability and digital skills and three days in an independent work placement.
No formal entry requirements are required, although this Level 1 qualification is a final step in a student's college career.
This course is for individuals aged 16 to 24 years old and is spread over five days - two classroom-based and three at an independent work experience.
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to work step into a place of work; timekeeping, following instructions, working independently, team working and problem solving are all vital skills the internship covers.
You will be assessed through a variety of ways (pictorial, photographic and video) to gain portfolio evidence for assessment at the end of the academic year. You will have regular tutorials and receive feedback to discuss your progress.
You can progress into work, volunteering, an apprenticeship. There is no progression within College after completing this course.
