Will Tomo be the future of user-generated content?

In the highly profitable world of gaming, user experience is everything. So we were excited to hear about the first title from Onibi. Tomo: Endless Blue is an anime-influenced role-playing game (RPG), and its developers have set out to create ‘the most accessible UGC open world ever’. UGC (user-generated content) allows players to create content – from custom levels, to the look of a character. Tomo could set a new standard, with the most empowered player community of all time.

Frequently asked questions

Our Computing, Digital and IT courses span a wide range of specialist areas, including programming, cyber security, networking, game development, digital media and IT support.

Whether you are curious about how software is built, fascinated by ethical hacking, or interested in creating digital content, there is a pathway to match your ambition. Courses range from introductory programmes that build core digital skills, through to advanced technical qualifications designed to prepare you for university, higher technical study or direct entry into industry.

Each programme is structured to help you grow in confidence, technical ability and professional awareness, so you are ready to take your place in a fast-evolving digital world. If you are driven by curiosity and innovation, this is where you can find your brilliance in technology.

You don't always need previous coding experience to get started. Many of our courses begin with the fundamentals, introducing you to programming logic, problem solving and key digital concepts in a clear and supportive way.

If you're applying for a higher-level qualification, some prior study or practical experience may be expected. Entry requirements are clearly outlined on each course page so you know exactly what is needed before you apply.

If you're unsure which level is right for you, our team can help you choose a starting point that challenges you while still setting you up for success.

Depending on your chosen course, you may study programming languages such as Python or JavaScript, as well as working with industry standard tools used in web development, networking, digital design and cyber security.

You'll not just learn theory. You'll apply your knowledge through practical tasks, building websites, developing applications, configuring networks or exploring secure systems. This hands-on experience helps you understand how digital solutions are created and maintained in real workplaces.

Our Computing and IT programmes combine essential technical knowledge with substantial practical project work.

You'll explore the theory that underpins digital systems, while regularly applying what you learn through realistic assignments and technical challenges. This balanced approach ensures you understand both how technology works and how to use it effectively to solve problems.

By the time you complete your course, you'll have developed a portfolio of work that demonstrates your skills and your readiness for progression.

A qualification in Computing or IT can open the door to a wide range of career opportunities. Progression routes include software development, IT support, cyber security analysis, web development, digital marketing, data focused roles and technical apprenticeships within the technology sector.

Many students choose to continue their studies at university or move on to higher technical qualifications. Others step directly into employment, equipped with practical experience and transferable skills such as logical thinking, teamwork and communication.

The digital sector continues to grow, offering exciting opportunities for those ready to shape the future through technology.

Yes. Many of our courses include live briefs, collaborative projects and scenario-based tasks that reflect real industry practice.

You may be asked to design a website for a specific audience, respond to a simulated cyber security threat, or develop a digital product from concept to completion. These experiences help you build resilience, creativity and the confidence to present and justify your ideas.

Working on realistic projects ensures you leave College with more than knowledge. You leave with experience.

Many learners progress from their course to university, higher technical qualifications or digital apprenticeships.

Our programmes are carefully structured to provide strong foundations and clear progression routes, so you can move forward with purpose. Throughout your studies, you'll receive guidance to help you plan your next step and understand the options available to you.

Some areas of Computing and IT, particularly programming and cyber security, benefit from strong numeracy and logical thinking skills.

Entry requirements will clearly state any required maths grades. If you need to strengthen your skills, we can support you alongside your main programme of study. What matters most is your willingness to think critically, solve problems and develop your confidence step by step.
