Free
Libre Office is a free alternative to Microsoft Office and is a fully featured office software package consisting of a word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, database and drawing packages. It's similar in features but without the monthly subscription costs associated with using Microsoft Office. As it is free to download everyone can use it and it is regularly updated.
This course includes an introduction to the three main parts of Libre Office including Writer (word processing), Calc (spreadsheets) and Impress (presentation). Files created in Libre will open in Microsoft Office.
Please note, this course is taught in various locations.
There are no formal entry requirements to join this course.
Classes are three hours long, held over 5 weeks.
Your progress will be assessed by your course tutor through participation in group discussions and activities.
You could go on to study one of our other essential digital skills.

Teams of our IT students wowed Portsmouth business leaders with ideas for an app they’ve built from scratch. The project was part of their work experience for LocalLinked, one of the organisations on the Portsmouth Business Support Scheme, run by Shaping Portsmouth.
