If you are interested in the visual arts, this course provides an opportunity for you to explore, develop and test your creativity within a qualification structure that is stimulating and demanding.
In the first year, you will try a broad range of different processes from painting, printing and drawing to photography and working with digital media. Then in the second year, you'll get to decide which area of visual arts you'd prefer to specialise in. There will also be opportunities built into the course for you to meet and work with local artists, visit galleries nationally and immerse yourself in the creative world.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and, ideally, an art and design based subject or a portfolio of evidence.
You will have a 9.55am start, one lesson in the morning, one in the afternoon and a guaranteed 4.00pm finish. You will also have at least one morning and one afternoon per week free for private study.
100% internal assessment (with external verification).
This course is designed to provide you with the relevant skills, knowledge and understanding to progress to further and higher education courses and/or into training or employment within the creative sector.
