A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, plus a merit or above on the Introductory Diploma if taking this as a top-up.
City of Portsmouth College is firmly committed to ensuring all students achieve their qualifications and have an outstanding learning experience during their time at the College. We recognise the importance and value of outstanding attendance and punctuality to students achieving success, including progression to higher levels of study, gaining employment, and gaining promotion in employment. Frequent absences and lateness impact upon student achievement as well as the acquisition of behaviours required at the workplace.
A minimum of 90% attendance is expected on course. You will also complete a minimum of 30 hours’ work experience in a customer-facing role in travel and tourism or hospitality.
Assessment is entirely coursework-based through assignments comprising written reports, presentations, visual displays, and practical and applied workplace simulations.
You may choose to progress to a degree in tourism, events or hospitality. You could become air cabin crew, a travel consultant, cruise ship crew member, events coordinator, or airport operations assistant. Or you could opt for an industry-based apprenticeship.
