A college tutor supporting an adult learner during a gas training session, reviewing paperwork together at a workbench with gas equipment.

This two-day limited scope CMA2LS / MET3LS Metering course at City of Portsmouth College is designed for candidates already working in the industry, perhaps as a gas main or service layer, looking to install domestic gas meters that are tested purged and then sealed off at the meter outlet. It does not allow candidates to carry out any work on the gas installation or installed appliances covered as a Category 1 candidate in CCN1.

Although Category 3 new entrants may apply, the course is generally for candidates who can demonstrate industry experience in a related field such as a Category 2 gas main / service layer.

This is a two day course, with your first day spent completing your theory and practical training and the second day focued on assessments.

You'll be assessed through a multiple-choice theory and practical assessment to national industry standards.

You will be awarded a BPEC limited scope domestic gas meter certificate, allowing you to apply to the Gas Safe Register for limited work on domestic gas meters.

Fees for this course must be paid in full.
