Steve Powell and Louis Allman from COPC with Neil Cassar, CEO of Hampshire FA at the unveiling of the partnership

City of Portsmouth College (COPC) is bringing its brand to Hampshire FA's King George V Football Complex in Cosham, thanks to a new partnership.

COPC and Hampshire FA put pen to paper in February 2026, with the College securing the headline sponsorship rights of Hampshire FA’s King George V Football Complex in Cosham until June 2027. The partnership sees COPC prominently featured across the complex, with pitch side advertising boards, pull-up banners, extensive internal and external signage from the point of entry, visibly demonstrating the scale of the partnership.

King George V Football Complex has become a primary venue for the College’s sporting provision, with its own football academy and Level 1 sport course, using the site for training and matches on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Situated a stone’s throw away from the Highbury Campus, COPC and the association have worked closely over the course of the last two years to unite a partnership that extends far beyond a commercial transaction. The state-of-the-art complex provides the College with modern facilities for its students to utilise. Coupled with the College’s extensive brand presence at the facility, the students are welcomed into a site that makes them feel a sense of belonging and integration – a home from home.

"City of Portsmouth College is delighted and proud to announce this partnership with Hampshire FA, bringing our bright and brilliant brand pitchside at King George V Football Complex, showcasing COPC’s services like the Retreat Salon to North Harbour’s construction skills training centre, and supporting Hampshire's fantastic grassroots football scene,” said Steve Powell, Assistant Principal (Sports UPS H and B Catering Auto).

Hampshire FA CEO Neil Cassar, added: “As a County Football Association and Leisure Operator of hub sites in the county, our aim is to create more strategic partnerships with further education and/or higher education establishments in the county. By day, the goal is to see them become thriving educational hubs for students, with our facilities offering an extension of the very colleges and universities themselves, to teach and train students on site using our indoor and external amenities. By night, to facilitate and support the many partner grassroots football clubs and organisations with their training sessions and weekends for their matches and events. We wish to see our hub sites become thriving educational and sporting hub sites that serve the local community and benefit all. The goal became reality and we look forward to a promising and rewarding relationship, building on the solid foundation that we have already established."
