City of Portsmouth College sport stars join England legend for Monster Kickabout

Current and former students and City of Portsmouth College staff have been passing on their football skills to coach hundreds of school-age children as part of a national initiative.
After taking part in the Monster Kickabout tour last year – a nationwide school football initiative from Sports Direct and Nike, created to encourage more kids to take up football – City of Portsmouth College’s Sports department returned to run the Maidstone leg of the event.
Lenny Hunter, Karl Concannon, Reece Elwell, Billy Manwaring joined former students Tanatswa Kanjanda, Tyler Monk, Matt Pates, Charlie Cole and Louis Patterson for the event, alongside Sport Curriculum Manager Jack Moore, Teaching Assistant Ciaran Hards and Team Coach Ronnie Aird.
They coached 240 children in World Cup-themed activities, alongside England legend Jill Scott.
Jack Moore, Curriculum Manager for Sport, said: “We had a fantastic day delivering the Monster Kickabout Programme with lioness/European Champion and Queen of the Jungle Jill Scott. Continued pathways for our students supporting stakeholders like Nike and Sports Direct, create great opportunities for sport students at City of Portsmouth College.”
City of Portsmouth College would like to thank event organisers Natalie Gurr, Jamie Stewart and Tom Lloyd for inviting us back for another year.
