First-year marketing students from City of Portsmouth College got a glimpse into the industry with a day-in-the-life style visit to a local recruitment agency.
The students took part in an Immersion Day, which replicates working in a professional environment, at Astute People, a recruitment agency in Cosham specialising in the Power Generation, Renewables, and Nuclear sectors.
As part of the experience, they were asked to create a business model with a limited budget and hire the right people for the right roles.
In an exciting development, two students, Ryan Jackson and Mariella Seek, have been invited back for a full work experience opportunity.
Louise McGarry, teacher in Business and Marketing, said: "A huge congratulations to Ryan and Mariella for representing the College so professionally during their recent immersion trip with Astute People."
"Throughout the day, they both demonstrated outstanding professionalism, enthusiasm, confidence, and a genuine willingness to learn. They engaged positively with industry professionals, asked thoughtful questions, and showcased the skills and attributes that employers value highly. We are incredibly proud of the way they conducted themselves and the positive impression they made."
