One million pages saved as City of Portsmouth College launches new prospectus

City of Portsmouth College is proud to announce it has saved one million pages in print in the last 18 months, thanks to new approaches to its printed publications.

The brilliant milestone was reached with the launch of its new School Leaver Prospectus, which signposts young prospective students to courses that best suit them.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to have reached this milestone,” said Katy Quinn, Principal & CEO. “By reducing the pagination of our annual publications by such an incredible amount in such a short space of time, we’re another step towards fulfilling our commitment to improving our sustainability and push towards net zero.”

The College produces two printed publications annually – the School Leaver Prospectus and the Adult Learner Prospectus. Across the last two issues, the School Leaver Prospectus has been reduced by 158 pages, while the Adult Learner Prospectus has seen its pagination reduced slightly as well as its overall size, from A4 to B5.

In total, considering the annual print run of these documents, 1,030,000 pages have been saved – or 170 trees.

“We’ve worked hard to reduce pagination on our publications to improve the reader experience for our prospective students and their parents, and better showcase what the College has to offer,” said Leonora Clements, Director of Marketing and Communications. “That we’ve achieved this eco-friendly milestone as well is a fantastic bonus.”
