A celebration of academic excellence – City of Portsmouth College recognises its 2026 graduates

Portsmouth Cathedral played host once again to one of City of Portsmouth College’s biggest celebrations of the year – its higher education graduation.

A total of 23 graduates – many of whom were members of COPC staff – took to the stage to collect their certificates and a handshake from both Katy Quinn, Principal & CEO, and Mark Cooper, Associate Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education Partnerships) at the University of Portsmouth and a Governor at COPC.

Addressing the graduands, Katy said: “Portsmouth is one great city, served by one great college and one great university, working together to drive economic success for businesses and individuals alike.

“Today, thanks to all your dedication and hard work, you have become part of that success story. You’ve found your brilliance. We always knew you had it in you.”

In his address, Mark said: “As adult learners, you have already demonstrated a belief in, and a commitment to, life-long learning. In a world that is ever-changing and a labour market where the skills we all need to be successful in our roles seem to shift so rapidly, you have shown that you are able and willing to rise to those challenges.

“Your studies have brought you new skills and the ability to meet the expectations of your particular professions. I hope they have offered you something else as well. I hope they have given you the power to learn and to adapt."
