Assistive Technology showcase at City of Portsmouth College

City of Portsmouth College hosted three showcases as part of its role as the home of Portmsouth’s Assistive Technology Lending Library (ATLL).

Held at Highbury Campus study centre and hosted by Peter Dennett, Inclusion Adviser at Portsmouth City Council, the showcases were a great opportunity for local providers to talk about specific areas of assistive technology to College staff and visiting staff from local schools.

In the first showcase, the Ethnic Minority Achievement Service (EMAS) talked about supporting pupils for whom English is not their first language. The second, hosted by Cliffdale Outreach Service, was all about supporting students with Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), while the third was about supporting pupils with visual impairments, delivered by the Vision and Hearing Impairment Team.
