City of Portsmouth College’s psychology students got real industry insights into mental health in the workplace, as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.
Thanks to a guest talk by Richard Higginson, a senior HR director and reward consultant who has worked with a range of FTSE 100 companies and internationally recognised consumer brands, students learned about what businesses can do to create and maintain working environments that promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
They also learned about how employers have legal responsibilities and heard case studies that challenged them to apply their analytical skills.
Nicholas Krys, Curriculum Manager for A Level Psychology, said: “It was a fascinating and highly relevant talk, and I’m grateful to our A Level Psychology teacher, Emma Marsh, for organising the visit and to Richard for being so generous with his time, expertise, and experience.”
