Future students descend on City of Portsmouth College

Huge numbers of prospective new students and their families paid a visit to City of Portsmouth College last week, for two days of Open Events.

The College’s October Open Events are the busiest of the year as students begin to consider choices for their post-GCSE study.

And this year was no exception as a total of 1,550 people attended the College’s three main campuses – Sixth Form, Highbury and North Harbour – across the two evenings.

Matt Hancock, Events Manager at City of Portsmouth College, said: “It was fantastic to see so many prospective students, their families and friends come to our Open Events last week. They really engaged with the activities laid on by our staff, loved the free cake and coffee, and we hope to see them in future as enrolled students!”

From informal chats with staff and student helpers, through to hands-on demonstrations, and with welcome talks giving everyone a great overview of College life, there was plenty to see and do.

If you missed last week’s Open Events but want to pay the College a visit, then the next Open Event is on February 10, 2027. Visit the events page and pre-register now!
