For learners working at entry level, including students with learning difficulties and disabilities, this course provides progression from Pre Entry to Entry 1 for those with lower-level literacy, numeracy and employability skills.
Units include:
- promoting independent living skills
- identifying employability skills
- team work
- developing personal skills and awareness
You can access appropriate and relevant education, improving your life opportunities by gaining confidence and developing independent living and work skills. The qualification provides a foundation for lifelong learning by focusing on transferable skills that are essential for living and working in the community.
No formal entry requirements are required, though realistic learning targets would need to be agreed.
100% attendance is expected for the duration of the course. Maths, English, work experience, tutorials and employability sessions all form part of the overall qualification and non-attendance to any of these sessions may result in the overall qualification not being achieved.
You will be assessed through a variety of ways (activity, group work, photographic and video), which will be presented through a portfolio of evidence. You will have weekly tutorials and receive feedback every six weeks to discuss your progress and to set achievement targets. All of our programmes are planned around your individual learning needs, with a timetable that clearly identifies the sessions that will be taught. You will be assigned a Programme Lead who will support you throughout your time in College. Teaching, coaching and learning support staff will work closely with you and your parents/carers to help you achieve planned learning goals.
You can progress to other entry level programmes at the same or higher level.
