Lifeskills Aspire course at City of Portsmouth College is designed for learners working at pre-entry level, particularly if you have severe learning difficulties and disabilities. If you are ready, the course also provides opportunities for progression.
The course is tailored to your individual starting point, needs, and personal targets, ensuring a personalised learning experience that supports your development and independence.
The course includes:
- personal development
- accessing the community
- health and hygiene
- tutorials and target setting.
The course is run across three and a half days per week, the college attendance expectation is 90%.
You will be assessed through a variety of ways (activity, group work, photographic and video), which will be presented through a portfolio of evidence.
All of our programmes are planned around your individual learning needs, with a timetable that clearly identifies the sessions that will be taught. You will be assigned a Programme Lead who will support you throughout your time in College. Teaching, coaching and learning support staff will work closely with you and your parents/carers to help you achieve planned learning goals.
The majority of students progress to Lifeskills Bridge. There are other pre-entry courses that may suit the invdividual.
