Lifeskills Drive at City of Portsmouth College is designed for learners working at an Entry 1 level, particularly if you have severe learning difficulties and disabilities.
The programme is tailored to your individual starting point, needs, and personal targets, ensuring a personalised learning experience that supports their development and independence. Completing this course will earn you an Entry 1 Award qualification in Independence and Employability skills.
The course includes:
- personal development
- accessing the community
- health and hygiene
- tutorial
- target setting
- English and maths.
The course takes place across three and a half days and attendance of at least 90% on a full timetable is expected.
You will be assessed through a variety of ways (activity, group work, photographic and video), which will be presented through a portfolio of evidence.
All of our programmes are planned around your individual learning needs, with a timetable that clearly identifies the sessions that will be taught. You will be assigned a Programme Lead who will support you throughout your time in College. Teaching, coaching and learning support staff will work closely with you and your parents/carers to help you achieve planned learning goals.
Students showing suitable progress can move into SAIL Entry 1.
