This course is designed for you if you want to forge a career in plastering but aren't currently working in the industry.
Units include:
- understanding how to carry out safe work practices
- introduction to building methods
- introduction to construction technology
- introduction into preparing background surfaces
- introduction to plaster materials.
During the course, you will complete a minimum of 30 hours of on-the-job experience within the industry. You will also have the opportunity to work on many live projects – including various community projects – and benefit from site visits, industry talks and demonstrations from experts.
A minimum of four GCSEs at grade 2 or above, including maths and English.
Attendance is two/three days a week, typically from 9.00am to 4.30pm. A high level of attendance is essential to achieve the qualification.
You will complete a variety of practical assignments and in class assessments. You will complete two online exams. You will log your learning journey in a diploma portfolio folder. You must complete all elements to successfully achieve the qualification.
On completion, you can progress to the Level 2 Diploma or into an apprenticeship standard in plastering or dry lining.
