The Foundation Diploma in IT Infrastructure Technician is a qualification designed to give you a range of specialist knowledge and transferable skills, providing you with the opportunity to enter an apprenticeship,
move directly into employment, or progress to a related Higher Education course.

From cloud computing to cybersecurity, our program covers a wide range of topics essential for success in today's tech-driven world. You'll learn from experienced instructors who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and expertise.
Units include:
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English language. You should have an active interest in computer networking and network engineering.
Weekly attendance is required at College during term time. Generally, you will be in College three days a week with the remaining day studying at home or in College, unless you need to retake your maths and/or English GCSEs. Your attendance is expected to be maintained at a minimum of 90% over the two years.
You will be taught by fully qualified, experienced tutors in the classroom, using a range of resources and methods, including textbooks, demonstrations, practical tasks, projects and e-learning. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your own education and develop skills of independent and autonomous learning and self-discovery, with the support and guidance of the tutors. You will have access to Microsoft’s latest technologies and will be expected to complete independent study outside the classroom for at least 15 hours per week.
80% of the assessment will be set and graded internally and subject to external standards verification. Assessment takes many forms enabling you to develop a broad range of transferable skills, including report writing, presentations, project completion and case studies. 20% of the assessment will be set and graded externally by OCR, through examinations and set tasks.
The Foundation Diploma in IT (IT Infrastructure Technician) serves as a stepping stone to a multitude of opportunities, including further education, apprenticeships, and employment in roles such as IT Support Specialist, Network Administrator, or even pursuing advanced degrees in Networking, Cyber Security or IT Management. Whether you choose to enter the workforce directly or continue your education, this qualification equips you with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the ever-evolving field of information technology.
