This course will develop your knowledge and understanding of autism and how to support individuals with autism to live healthy and fulfilled lives. The term autism is used to include all autistic spectrum conditions, including Asperger syndrome.
Units may include:
- signs, symptoms and diagnosis of autism
- sources of information and support, legislation, and policy relevant to autism
- living with autism
- best practice relating to autism.
Students are expected to have at least a Level 1 qualification in English, which will be assessed before starting this course.
This qualification is online only so you can study at your own pace, in your own workspace. This qualification includes 124 guided learning hours.
This is a distance learning course. Assessment must meet the requirements of the identified assessment strategy/principles. All learning outcomes must be met to achieve a pass.
After successfully completing this course, you could go on to study:
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children's Workforce (Early Years Educator)
- Level 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
- Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support
- Level 3 Award in Supporting Children and Young People with Autism
- Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support Services.
