If you are interested in developing a career in business leadership, organisational operations or team management, the T Level in Management and Administration is an excellent option.
In your first year, you will develop an in-depth understanding of key concepts and theories that underpin business and management, including business context and organisation types, project and change management, leadership and management styles, quality assurance, finance, communication, teamwork, and digital and data literacy.
In year two, you will focus on a specialism, developing the knowledge and practical skills required to manage teams and support business operations, including delegating work, maintaining compliance, contributing to planning and delivering projects, and using data to inform decisions. This specialism prepares students for supervisory and junior management roles across a wide range of industries.
A key feature of the T Level is the minimum 315-hour industry placement with an employer – a valuable opportunity to apply what you learn in class, build your CV and develop professional behaviours.
A minimum of five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including maths and English.
City of Portsmouth College is firmly committed to ensuring all students achieve their qualifications and have an outstanding learning experience during their time at the College. We recognise the importance and value of outstanding attendance and punctuality to students achieving success, including progression to higher levels of study, gaining employment, and gaining promotion in employment. Frequent absences and lateness impact upon student achievement as well as the acquisition of behaviours required at the workplace.
To give you the best possible chance of successfully completing your qualification, 100% attendance is expected for the duration of the course. This includes industry placement, tutorials and employability sessions that all form part of the overall qualification and non-attendance to any of these sessions may result in the overall qualification not being achieved.
The core content assessment involves two written exams and an Employer Set Project. The occupational specialism in the T Level in Management and Administration (Team Leadership and Management) is assessed through a combination of practical tasks that are designed to demonstrate your ability to apply your skills, knowledge, and behaviours to realistic work-related scenarios. The assessment is externally set and marked by the awarding organisation. It is completed under controlled conditions and is designed to replicate real workplace situations.
There is also a substantial industry placement of 315 hours that must be completed over the two years.
The T Level in Management and Administration is a high-quality technical qualification that opens multiple progression pathways.
It is recognised by employers, apprenticeship providers and universities as a strong foundation for further study or employment in business-related fields.
